A remodel is one of the biggest transformations your home will ever go through, so it's natural to want a clear picture of how long you'll be living in the middle of it. The honest answer depends on what you're changing, but most Naples projects follow a predictable range once you know what shapes it.

In this blog, you'll learn how long a home remodel takes in Naples, how timelines differ by project type, the stages every remodel moves through, and the factors that can speed a project up or slow it down.

What Is the Typical Timeline for a Home Remodel in Naples, FL?

Most home remodels in Naples take between 2 and 6 months, depending on the size of the space and how much of it changes.

Cosmetic updates like paint, flooring, cabinets, and fixtures sit at the shorter end. Structural work, such as moving a bathroom or opening up a wall, sits at the longer end because it involves permitting, inspections, and reconfigured plumbing and electrical. Here's how the common project types compare:

Whole Home Remodel:
Design/Pre-construction: 2 to 3 months
Construction: 4 to 6 months
Condo Remodel:
Design/Pre-construction: 1 to 3 months
Construction: 4 to 6 months
Kitchen Remodel:
Design/Pre-construction: 1 to 3 months
Construction: 2 to 4 months
Bathroom remodel:
Design/Pre-construction: 3 to 6 weeks
Construction: 2 to 4 months

How Long Does Construction Take for Each Type of Project?

Timelines shift with the scope of work, so it helps to look at each project on its own.

How long does a whole home remodel take?

A whole home remodel construction phase in Naples takes 4 to 6 months.

It's the most involved project we take on, often including structural changes like removing walls and reconfiguring the layout. It can also include adding spaces, like bathrooms, laundry rooms, or expanding the kitchen.

Since it touches the kitchen, baths, and main living areas all at once, it's the best chance to rethink how the entire home flows.

How long does a condo renovation take?

A condo renovation takes 2 to 5 months for construction and moves faster than a full home remodel. Renovations refresh the existing space with new cabinets, flooring, paint, fixtures, and appliances, with minimal structural changes.

That smaller structural footprint is exactly why they wrap up sooner.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

A kitchen remodel in Naples takes 2 to 4 months once construction begins, or longer when it's paired with updating adjacent spaces, like replacing flooring.

Once a wall comes down to open the space, the surrounding rooms tend to look outdated instantly, so everything connects cleanly instead of meeting at a seam.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A bathroom remodel construction phase in Naples takes 2 to 4 months, with the range driven by how much the layout moves.

Homeowners will generally remodel bathrooms to create a better layout, to update finishes while making repairs, adding luxury upgrades, or aging in place.

The tile, waterproofing, and plumbing hidden behind the walls are what make even a small bathroom more involved than it looks.

What Factors Can Affect Your Remodeling Timeline?

A handful of factors set your timeline, and good planning keeps most of them from becoming delays.

Scope of the work:
Cosmetic updates move quickly; removing walls or relocating a bath adds architectural, plumbing, and electrical work.
Size of the space:
More square footage means more surface, more materials, and more coordination.
Material selections:
Custom and specialty finishes carry longer lead times than in-stock options, though the wait often buys years of enjoyment.
Design decisions:
Finalizing your design early, and holding to it, is one of the biggest things you can control.
Permitting and inspections:
These follow the municipality's schedule, not yours.
Unforeseen conditions:
Weather and the occasional surprise behind a wall can shift the plan.

Working with a design-build contractor like Corinto folds design and construction under one roof, which streamlines the decisions that tend to stall a project.

The Typical Stages of a Home Remodeling Project

Every remodel moves through the same predictable sequence, and knowing it ahead of time takes the mystery out of the process. Here are the typical stages of a home remodeling process in Naples:

Initial consultation:
We get to know your home, your goals, and your budget.
Design and planning:
Layouts, materials, and the overall vision take shape.
Design refinement:
Follow-up meetings to tighten the details.
Finalizing the proposal:
Scope, selections, and cost come together.
Permitting and material ordering:
Approvals move forward while long-lead items get ordered.
Construction:
The build itself, managed stage by stage.
Final walkthrough:
We review the finished work together before you settle back in.

What Can Delay a Home Remodel?

Even a well-planned remodel can meet a surprise or two, and most of them fall into three buckets.

Approvals and inspections:
Permit timelines and inspection schedules are set by the local jurisdiction.
Material lead times:
A luxury freestanding tub can take far longer to arrive than a mid-grade option that's stocked locally. An experienced remodeler who handles your selections knows which pieces to order months in advance.
Mid-project changes:
This is the most avoidable one. Switching a finish or a layout after the build starts can ripple through material orders and construction sequencing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Home Remodeling Timelines

Can I live in my home during a remodel?

Yes. You can live in your home during a remodel, but it takes coordination with a remodeling contractor to make sure the construction space is separate from the living space. In some cases where the whole home will be gutted or reconfigured, it is necessary to create alternate, temporary living arrangements elsewhere.

Can my home be remodeled while I'm away?

Yes. With careful coordination with your remodeling contractor on entry points and access, material delivery, and working around contents in the home, a home remodel can occur while you are away.

At Corinto, we regularly manage projects while homeowners are living up North.

What causes remodeling projects to take longer?

Remodeling projects take longer because they are more structurally involved than renovations. Renovations are often cosmetic upgrades, while whole-home remodels often include changing the layout, moving rooms, or removing walls in a space.

Whole Home Remodeling Costs in Naples

A whole home remodel in Naples is priced by the square foot, from $65 to $180+ depending on scope and finishes.

Pricing per square foot is the fairest way to size a job this large, because it scales with your actual home. The three tiers break down like this:

Whole home refresh:
- $65 to $80 per sq ft
- Paint, updated cabinets, standard flooring and fixtures
Midrange whole home remodel:
- $140 to $170 per sq ft
- Kitchen and bath work, semi-custom cabinetry, some wall changes
Luxury whole remodel:
- $180+ per sq ft
- Open floor plans, custom cabinetry, natural stone, top-tier finishes

To put that in real terms, a 2,000-square-foot home runs roughly $130,000 to $160,000 as a refresh, around $280,000 to $340,000 at the mid-range, and $360,000 and up for a full luxury remodel.

Condo Remodeling Costs in Naples

A condo remodel in Naples typically runs $60K to $220K+, with the range set by how much of the unit you reconfigure.

Condos come with a rulebook a single-family home never has, from association approvals to building logistics and seasonal timing, and a good remodeler manages all of it for you. Here's how the tiers tend to shake out:

Condo refresh:
- $60K to $120K
- New flooring, fresh paint, updated cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures, with the existing layout intact
Midrange condo remodel:
- $120K to $220K
- New kitchen and baths, new flooring throughout, and upgraded finishes, without major structural changes
Luxury condo remodel:
- $220K+
- A reconfigured floor plan, relocated baths, repositioned walls, and top-tier custom finishes

Kitchen Remodeling Costs in Naples

A kitchen remodel in Naples runs $50K to $160K+, depending on cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and whether the layout changes.

Kitchen refresh:
- $50K to $75K
- Updated cabinets, standard flooring, new standard appliances, pre-fab countertops
Midrange kitchen remodel:
- $85K to $150K
- Semi-custom cabinetry, upgraded fixtures and appliances, some layout changes, tile backsplash
Luxury kitchen remodel:
- $160K+
- Custom cabinetry, stone countertops, top-of-the-line appliances, a full layout change, premium flooring

Bathroom Remodeling Costs in Naples

A bathroom remodel in Naples runs $22K to $60K+, with the range driven by the fixtures, the tile, and whether the layout moves.

Bathroom refresh:
- $22K to $28K
- Fresh paint, standard flooring, a fiberglass shower surround, a new tub, and standard fixtures
Midrange bathroom remodel:
- $30K to $55K
- Semi-custom cabinetry, upgraded fixtures, tile or stone shower walls, semi-frameless doors, and some layout changes
Luxury bathroom remodel:
- $60K+
- Custom cabinetry, a freestanding tub, a premium tile shower, custom stone countertops, and a full layout change

What Factors Affect the Cost of a Home Remodel?

A handful of factors decide where your project falls within that range. The smartest move is an honest conversation with your design-build remodeler early, so the finishes you choose fit the number you have in mind.

Existing conditions:
What's already behind the walls, and what has to be brought up to date, sets your starting point.
Scope and size:
More square footage and a longer punch list mean more materials, labor, and coordination.
Structural changes:
Removing a load-bearing wall to open the kitchen and living area adds engineering, permitting, and trade work.
Level of finishes:
This is the biggest lever. A skilled team delivers a beautiful result at any tier, so the choice is really about matching materials to your budget.

What Can Increase the Cost of Your Remodel?

Certain choices reliably push a project toward the top of its range.

Luxury finishes:
High-end materials elevate the result and raise the investment.
Custom cabinetry:
Cabinets built to exact specifications cost more than semi-custom or stock.
Moving plumbing or walls:
Structural and mechanical changes add labor and complexity.
Additional permits:
Wall removal and relocated plumbing require more approvals than a cosmetic update does.

None of these are reasons to avoid a project. They're simply the levers to weigh when you decide where to spend and where to hold steady.

Is Remodeling Your Naples Home Worth the Investment?

For most homeowners, a well-planned remodel is worth it, because it improves both how the home lives and what it's worth.

Every project is as individual as the house or condo behind it. People remodel for lifestyle, for aging in place, for a second home they want to enjoy for years, and for the resale value a refreshed space carries. Once you're clear on your own reasons, the decision usually gets a lot easier, and the result tends to pay you back every day you live in it.
